Mitt Romney doesn’t like Arkansans

rotten fruitIt’s a shameful truth. Black Diamond Pictures and Slow Hand have released a film starring Jon Voight and Terrance Stamp called “September Dawn”. You can see the trailer by clicking here.

The film is about Bringham Young (Terrance Stamp) who encounters 120 Arkansas pioneer who’ve settled in a valley in Utah. Young, asserting himself as God on Earth, demands hisHoly Crap religious Mormon followers to kill the Arkansans in a mass genocide. In the trailer, you hear one actor shout: “Mormons! Do your duty to God!” and the muskets go a-blazing.

The film is based on historical record and a few basic facts. The Mormon church has decried the film as nothing but rubbish. If you count only the completely fictional love-interest in the film, you might be right! Jon Voight can’t act either. But if you consider that 120 people were murdered by a psychopath who believed God tells him to kill others, you might watch it with a bit of nausea.

Republican Presidential-hopeful Governor Mitt Romney has pooh-poohed the ruckus by stating, and I’m paraphrasing here:

“…so what?!  Every church has its bad people. I have bad people in my church too!”

Could it be that Mitt Romney had an ancestor named Parley Pratt that was murdered in Arkansas only months before the “Mountain Meadows” massacre leaving twelve widowed-wives?! Romney might be pleased that there’s some justice in this world after all! Or perhaps it’s because Mitt Romney has only one wife and the Church of Latter Day Saints strictly forbids monogamous marriages?

Ashamed Blog

Either way, the Governor has an aweful lot to apologize for, and I would think he should begin apologizing to theMe descendants of those 120 victims lost in the Utah wilderness.

  1. Are you kidding… Do you care to even attempt accuracy?

  2. Please tell me this blog was a joke. Certainly no one can be as stupid as you appear to be. Mitt Romney has something to apologize for? What exactly does Romney have to apologize for? Did he kill any Arkansians? No. Did he say it was great that the 120 people were killed at Mountain Meadows? No.

All he did was say you have bad people in any religion – which is true. He was also probably thinking why does he have to respond to something he had nothing to do with. Have we asked Baptists to apologize for murdering missionaries in the South? No. Have we asked Missouri and Illinois to apologize for all of the persecution the Mormons suffered? No. In fact, three years ago when the Illinois legislature offerd an official apology for kicking the Mormons out, most of the people I talked to said that was very nice of them but why bother – none of the people living today had anything to do with what happened a 100+ years ago. Has Mitt Romney asked Arkansians to apologize because an ancestor happened to get murdered in Arkansas? NO! Because no living Arkansian had anything to do with it!

By the way, with your snide little comments concerning polygamy and your “I am so much better than those derned Mormon polygamists” attitud of yours, I just want to say, that Pratt left not only 12 widows but he left a lot of fatherless children. I don’t care what religion or social or marital background someone has, when they leave behind a grieving family I mourn with them. My heart goes out (more than y will ever understand) to the victims at Mountain Meadows and their remaining loved ones who mourned long after the massacre.
And finally, oh wise one, MONOGAMY IS ONE WIFE! The LDS Church forbids POLYGAMY (or, more precisely as the church practiced it, POLYGYNY [more than one wife]) not monogamy.

  3. hello. i dont get you peaple. why is everyone making fun of mormons? im not but its so mean! i know the truth and no, god didnt tell the mormons to kill arkansans! you guys need to read the bible or the book of mormon. what happend if someone made fun of a jew, catholic, etc? would you do the same thing to mitt? i bet not! everyone that is doing this should apoligize to him right now! he is a great person and he should be our president. he could change the U.S.A and maybe the world…
