Arrest Warrants Issued for Cheney and Bush in Maple Syrup!

Vermont - LargeThe towns of Brattleboro and Marlboro have in instructed their police departments to arrest Vice President Dick Cheney and Commander in Thief, George W. Bush. Without elaborating on any specifics, the ballot’s measure asked voters to approve the indictment based on “Crimes against the Constitution.”

State lawmakers have passed nonbinding resolutions to end the war in Iraq and impeach Bush and Cheney, and several towns have also passed resolutions of impeachment. None of them have caught on in Washington.

Pretty dumb, don’t you think? Especially when you head on to the next paragraph:

Bush has never visited the state as president, though he has spent vacations at his family compound in nearby Maine.

houseflyFrom USA Today:

In Brattleboro, the vote was 2,012 for and 1,795 against. In Marlboro, it was 43 to 25, with three abstentions.

“I hope the one thing that people take from this is ‘Hey, it can be done,”‘ said Kurt Daims, 54, who organized the petition drive that led to the Brattleboro vote.

He said he hopes Bush and Cheney are never arrested here; he wants them impeached before that could happen.

mosquitoOrganizers of the campaign to have these two thugs arrested complained because the ballot included their measure on the back of the form. They wanted the measure front and center on the front cover!

Organizers of the indictment campaign were frustrated that the printed ballot ended up relegating the Bush-Cheney indictment article to the back side, which they said would cause some people to miss it.

The 8-by-14-inch yellow cardboard ballot listed the offices and candidates in the local election on one side, and at the bottom in block letters “Turn Ballot Over and Continue Voting.”

The article read: “Shall the Selectboard instruct the Town Attorney to draft indictments against President Bush and Vice President Cheney for crimes against our Constitution, and publish said indictments for consideration by other authorities and shall it be the law of the Town of Brattleboro that the Brattleboro Police, pursuant to the above-mentioned indictments, arrest and detain George Bush and Richard Cheney in Brattleboro if they are not duly impeached, and prosecute or extradite them to other authorities that may reasonably contend to prosecute them?”

Kurt DaimsIn spite of all the hub-bub going on – people forgot to turn the ballot over anyway. (Which is astounding, if you ask me.) Said:

Barbara Southworth, a 66-year-old nurse, said she would’ve voted against it.

“I forgot to vote because it was on the flip side,” she said.

Check out the last sentence on Deutsche Welle on the exact same story:

Voters in two towns in the US state of Vermont have approved a measure that would instruct police to arrest President George W. Bush and Vice President Dick Cheney for “crimes against the Constitution.” The nonbinding, symbolic measure, passed in Brattleboro and Marlboro instructs local police to extradite Bush and Cheney to other authorities that may prosecute them. Lawmakers in Vermont, a state known for its liberal politics, have passed nonbinding resolutions to end the war in Iraq and to impeach Bush and Cheney. None of them have caught on in Washington.

That’s pretty damned funny.

Here’s a really cool video I found on YouTube on the topic (Especially the last two older gentleman):

Clinton/Obama Promises Offered On NAFTA: Fact? Or Fiction?

clown politiciansYou shouldn’t believe everything a politician tells you. As with attorneys and meteorologists, politicians are paid to be professional liars. When Bill Clinton was running for President in 1991, he promised to over-haul the credit system and make it a little more accurate and harder to invade from outsiders. He never lifted a finger. The entire credit card system is a disaster to this day and banks are still using it to make decisions on loaning money to their customers.

In last week’s debate between Clinton and Obama, the subject was brought up on their views about NAFTA, the North American Free Trade Agreement. Both of the Senators agreed that NAFTA would be either renegotiated or at least “reviewed”. According to the original transcripts, Clinton said:

You know, I have been a critic of NAFTA from the very beginning. I didn’t have a public position on it, because I was part of the administration, but when I started running for the Senate, I have been a critic. I’ve said it was flawed. I said that it worked in some parts of our country, and I’ve seen the results in Texas. I was in Laredo in the last couple of days. It’s the largest inland port in America now. So clearly, some parts of our country have been benefited.

She continued on:

So what I have said is that we need to have a plan to fix NAFTA. I would immediately have a trade timeout, and I would take that time to try to fix NAFTA by making it clear that we’ll have core labor and environmental standards in the agreement.

Her final thoughts on NAFTA were…

So I would hope that, again, we can get to a debate about what the real issues are and where we stand because we do need to fix NAFTA. It is not working. It was, unfortunately, heavily disadvantaging many of our industries, particularly manufacturing.

Obama stepped into the conversation, first by disagreeing with Senator Clinton’s claim she’s “always been against” NAFTA, but did offer his thoughts on the subject:

I have to say, Tim, with respect to my position on this, when I ran for the United States Senate, the Chicago Tribune, which was adamantly pro-NAFTA, noted that, in their endorsement of me, they were endorsing me despite my strong opposition to NAFTA.

And that conversation that I had with the Farm Bureau, I was not ambivalent at all. What I said was that NAFTA and other trade deals can be beneficial to the United States because I believe every U.S. worker is as productive as any worker around the world, and we can compete with anybody. And we can’t shy away from globalization. We can’t draw a moat around us. But what I did say, in that same quote, if you look at it, was that the problem is we’ve been negotiating just looking at corporate profits and what’s good for multinationals, and we haven’t been looking at what’s good for communities here in Ohio, in my home state of Illinois, and across the country.

And as president, what I want to be is an advocate on behalf of workers. Look, you know, when I go to these plants, I meet people who are proud of their jobs. They are proud of the products that they’ve created. They have built brands and profits for their companies. And when they see jobs shipped overseas and suddenly they are left not just without a job, but without health care, without a pension, and are having to look for seven-buck-an-hour jobs at the local fast-food joint, that is devastating on them, but it’s also devastating on the community. That’s not the way that we’re going to prosper as we move forward.

Sounds like we’re all in agreement with how both of our Presidential Candidates feel about NAFTA?

KOAApparently, the camp counselors from both Clinton’s and Obama’s KOA have already been dialing up the Canadians and telling their Prime Minister that they were just “joking”. You know…”kidding”! …Just “joshing around”. Says the Canadian-based CTV.com:

Barack Obama has ratcheted up his attacks on NAFTA, but a senior member of his campaign team told a Canadian official not to take his criticisms seriously, CTV News has learned.

Both Obama and Hillary Clinton have been critical of the long-standing North American Free Trade Agreement over the course of the Democratic primaries, saying that the deal has cost U.S. workers’ jobs.

Within the last month, a top staff member for Obama’s campaign telephoned Michael Wilson, Canada’s ambassador to the United States, and warned him that Obama would speak out against NAFTA, according to Canadian sources.

The staff member reassured Wilson that the criticisms would only be campaign rhetoric, and should not be taken at face value.

But Tuesday night in Ohio, where NAFTA is blamed for massive job losses, Obama said he would tell Canada and Mexico “that we will opt out unless we renegotiate the core labor and environmental standards.”

Late Wednesday, a spokesperson for the Obama campaign said the staff member’s warning to Wilson sounded implausible, but did not deny that contact had been made.

The Clinton KOA has been peeing in the same swimming hole on the topic too:

“Senator Obama does not make promises he doesn’t intend to keep,” the spokesperson said.

Low-level sources also suggested the Clinton campaign may have given a similar warning to Ottawa, but a Clinton spokesperson flatly denied the claim.

During Tuesday’s debate, she said that as president she would opt out of NAFTA “unless we renegotiate it.”

On the subject of NAFTA; it appears that the only politician that wasn’t lying about the damages it would do to those of us in the United States was Ross Perot. Perot told all of us to “listen for the giant-sucking sound of jobs headed over the border to Mexico should NAFTA be ratified.”

updated3 The NAFTA story is a hoax. According to Political Radar,

During a debate in Ohio this week, where NAFTA is blamed for job losses, both Obama and Clinton said that as president, they would opt out of the trade deal unless it could be renegotiated.

When asked about the CTV report, Obama’s said today, “It wasn’t true.”

Today Bill Burton of the Obama campaign told ABC News no senior Obama campaign representative called the Canadian embassy. “The news reports on Obama’s position on NAFTA are inaccurate and in no way represent Senator Obama’s consistent position on trade,” Burton said separately in an email.

“When Senator Obama says that he will forcefully act to make NAFTA a better deal for American workers, he means it. Both Canada and Mexico should know that, as president, Barack Obama will do what it takes to create and protect American jobs and strengthen the American economy — that includes amending NAFTA to include labor and environmental standards. We are currently reaching out to the Canadian embassy to correct this inaccuracy.”

This afternoon the Canadian embassy in Washington, D.C., sent out a press release to deny the CTV report.

“The Canadian Embassy confirms that at no time has any member of a Presidential campaign called the Canadian Ambassador or any official at the Embassy to discuss NAFTA,” the statement read. “Last night the Canadian television network CTV, falsely reported that such calls had been made. That story is untrue. Neither before nor since the Ohio debate has any presidential campaign called Ambassador Wilson or the Embassy to raise NAFTA.”

The Canadian embassy is pro actively reaching out to the campaigns “all the time,” Norton said, to try to meet with aides who might form the foreign and economic policy teams of any future administration.

“We talk about the whole range of Canada-U.S. issues which we think it’s critically important that the presidential candidates be aware of including the number of jobs that depend in the United States on Canada-U.S. trade.”

The Canadian Embassy says there are more than seven million jobs in the U.S. that depend on trade with Canada.

“We discuss our view that NAFTA has been very good for all three participating countries and has made the continent more competitive in the face of China, India, Brazil,” Norton said.

Dammit. This is what happens when your read that trash Republican “Daily-Kos” wanna-be website. I read this story originally here and here. Redstate is now pushing out the conspiracy theory that the Canadian government doesn’t want to be seen as an agency involved with US politics. Redstate is pushing this YouTube from this link:

FruitFly 6On Blogs4McCain, a blog-site where Nursing Home patients learn how to use a computer mouse and “Monitor” can sometimes mean a “tee-vee” screen, they’re publishing something completely out of touch with the Obama/NAFTA story with this (piece of crap).

I knew I should have stayed in bed this morning. It’s what I get for reading Redstate without wearing my radiation suit and UV goggles on…

Oh Dear God: More GOP Corruption and Another Pervert Case…

mexican fruit fliesCongressional Quarterly is reporting that the National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) has asked the FBI to investigate looting from inside the organization. The NRCC is the funding-arm for the GOP, politicians who sit down together and strategize which Congressional and/or US Senatorial races need a boost during election cycles. I suspect solving the case should be easy: Simply look at which Republican incumbents who are desperate Michele enough to keep their Bachmann seat in Congress. NRCC Chair, Tom Cole (R-OK) has asked for the investigation and sent a written release saying:

“As part of our ongoing efforts to institute and strengthen financial controls at the National Republican Congressional Committee, we learned earlier this week of irregularities in our financial audit process”

“Since these irregularities may include fraud, we have notified the appropriate law enforcement authorities. We are aggressively and thoroughly investigating the matter and, while we determine the details, we have terminated our relationship with a former employee who was engaged as an outside vendor.”

houseflyThis isn’t the first time the NRCC has reported financial woes. This causes me to believe the looting of Republican funds has been going on for sometime. In November of 2007, NRCC was $4 million in debt and had a parse $1.6 million on-hand. The NRCC hasn’t seen this extreme in financial problems since Michele Bachmann was elected for Minnesota’s 6th CD.

Another strange coincidence? When the bill was brought up to fund security for the city of St Paul and the upcoming GOP 2008 Presidential campaign, everyone of Minnesota’s Congressional delegates voted for those funds, except for Bachmann.

Let’s have a serious talk about the perverts. Perversion and Larceny are, after all, the Flora and the Fauna of the GOP.

Do you remember a company called “Clean Flix”? It was the “GOP Darling” among the Evangelical wing in the early Depression Bush II Years. Clean Flix was a company organized that would “sterilize” Hollywood film from anything they deemed “sinful” for personal distribution grade DVD’s. The Utah-based, Mormon owned company wanted to distribute their movie version and rent them in direct competition to Blockbuster video and Netflix. (Get it? “Flix”? They’re so god damned creative, they even ripped off part of the fucking name from someone else!)Black Garbage Fly

Lawsuits filed in 2002 shut the company down in 2006. Hollywood greatest directors including Spielberg, Redford and Scorsese along with the studios of Disney, Sony, Universal, Paramount and Twentieth Century Fox wrote up a copyright lawsuit so huge, God couldn’t buy an attorney to bail them out. Clean Flix planned to appeal and whipped out a Biblical analogy:

“We’re disappointed,” CleanFlicks CEO Ray Lines said. “This is a typical case of David vs. Goliath, but in this case, Hollywood rewrote the ending. We’re going to continue to fight.”

If you erpped a little bit of vomit in the back of your throat; I share your taste. They look at themselves as “David” who’s trying to steal, plagiarize, sanitize and re-distribute “Goliath’s” art work. So far I don’t think Michele Bachman has had anything to do with this lawsuit.

Thompson LifferthThe company’s CEO’s, both Latter Day Saints (a.k.a. “Mitt Romney Voters”), decided an alternative route: Re-open the store, with the Sin-Free videos and claim them “education material”. It could have worked, if Daniel D. Thompson (31 yrs) and Isaac Liefferth (24 yrs) hadn’t been messing around with the students.

Two 14-year old girls and a 16 year old girl worked their text messaging phones and easily found Thompson and Liefferth who gladly paid them plenty in exchange for oral sex. Yes, I was relieved to learn they were heterosexual perverts too. Because if it was 14 year old boys – “The Gays” would have taken the rap as Thompson and Leifferth were proof that “The Gays” were simply “recruiting”. Since it’s a heterosexual pervert story, there’s no fucking “Gay Agenda” bullshit to worry about.sharpie

It was the 16-year olds Mom who was the sharpie. She noticed the stash of $20’s in the kid’s bedroom and pried the whole god damn story out of her.

The booking documents state Thompson told the 14-year-olds that his film sanitizing business was a cover for a pornography studio. He asked the girls if they would participate in making a porn movie, but they refused, the documents state.

Police found a “large quantity” of pornographic movies inside the business, along with a keg of beer, painkillers and two cameras hooked up to a television. Thompson told police he didn’t know the teenagers were under 18 or that they were paid for sex. He said pornography found at the business was for “personal use,” according to the documents.

Thompson was released Friday after posting $30,000 bail. Lifferth remained in the Utah County jail late Friday, with bail set at $30,000.

Formal charges have not been filed against either man. Calls to Thompson’s phone number went unanswered Friday.

mosquitoNow let’s pull off the fucking buggy-wheels on this baby carriage and look at the fun parts of this story. Peter T. Chattaway notes in Arts and Faith blog the disparaging twist in who is the actual owners of CleanFlix. In his own blog “FilmChat“, he spotted the judge’s ruling in the original lawsuit, Deseret Morning News declaring both Ray Lines and Daniel D. Thompson as CleanFlix CEO/owners. Since Mr. Thompson and Mr. Liefferth’s arrest, CleanFlix has developed severe heartburn over that fucking “CEO” term and has filed a one million dollar lawsuit against Thompson. Mr. Ray Lines goes out of his way to denying any relationship with Mr. Pervert Thompson or his fucking illegal activities with minors in his CleanFlix stores relating to any god damned minors.

“We want everyone to see that we stand for the antithesis of everything with which we have been erroneously linked in recent reports,” said Ray Lines, whom CleanFlicks says is the true founder of their company.

Christianity Today, also one of many media outlets that made the mistake on the whole “CEO/Owner” thing. Other media outlets included Salt Lake Tribune, Provo Daily Herald as well as the local CBS affiliate so at least Christian Today was in fairly good company. Embarrassed by the mix-up, Christianity Today had to ask CleanFlix about the confusion. (They’re Christians for fuck’s sake, they don’t make mistakes!) David Politis, CleanFlix’s publicist explained it very well. After all, not knowing who’s a CEO and who’s an “Owner” can be a wee-bit confusing. Said Politis:

CleanFlicks used to run a number of brick-and-mortar dealerships in Utah, but when they decided to become exclusively an online DVD rental business in 2002, they sold the stores to individuals. Thompson’s father apparently bought three of the stores, and later hired his son, Daniel, to manage one of them. CleanFlicks later required all of the brick-and-mortar stores to cease using the CleanFlicks name.

Apparently, Daniel isn’t a CEO/Owner afterall. He’s a manager while his Daddy is the real “CEO/Owner”. But “Junior” is the one being sued for millions of dollars for infringing on the trademark of a fine quality corporation that infringes on professional grade film and art.housefly

Also worth noting: While stupidly not doing their homework the first time when the original broke, Christianity Today decided to include something CleanFlix’s discovered about Thompson:

Meanwhile, CleanFlicks had also learned that Daniel Thompson had served time in the Utah County Jail for various indictments on securities fraud, money laundering, and theft. (Documents from the Fourth District Court in Provo confirm this.) At that time, CleanFlicks told Thompson’s father that they would no longer do business with his son.

No god damned background checks at the CleanFlix corporation to “run” and manage your fucking brick-and-mortar outlet’s Mr. Lines? Christianity Today, along with a half-dozen other media outlets can’t the time to do a little research before going to print?

Rudy Giuliani’s campaign going down? Say it isn’t so!

RudyNow this can’t be good. His campaign staffers are waving their need for a paycheck while Rudy waits for that special “blow-out” election in Florida. Says the Mpls Strib:

About a dozen senior campaign staffers for Rudy Giuliani are forgoing their January paychecks, aides said Friday, a sign of possible money trouble for the Republican presidential candidate.

“We have enough money, but we could always use more money,” contended Mike DuHaime, Giuliani’s campaign manager and one of those who now is working for free. “We want to make sure we have enough to win.”

Doesn’t look good, huh? Check this out farther down the column:

The former New York mayor has yet to win a contest and is counting on a victory in delegate-rich Florida to prove his candidacy is viable heading into the multistate contests slated for Feb. 5, where he believes he can prevail in states like California and Illinois.

It’s a costly strategy because Florida and states that follow it are home to some of the most expensive media markets in the country. With so many states voting in such a narrow time period, candidates can do little else but rely on paid media to get their message out.

What do you want to bet that Rudy Giuliani has embezzled “all of that cash” and funneled it directly into his consulting company, Giuliani Partners? In six moths to a year from now, we’re going to have a headline reading:FruitFly

“Financial woes at Giuliani Partners: IRS expected to file indictments today”

…And it’ll be all about this money that came into the company right around this time and we’ll have forgotten all about his campaign staffers who’ve waved getting paid in order to see him elected President of the United States.
