Rush Compares Sotomayor to Housekeepers With Vaccuum Cleaners

Nothing like heaping a scoop of sexism on top of a large dollop of racism.  I’m guessing all those Cuban-American Republicans in Florida are loving all this racist stereotyping trash coming out of the GOP’s mouth.  One can play the wild-card on the general Hispanic/ Latino voter in this country as voting either way – Democratic or Republican.  But with this kind of gunk painting Sotomayor as a racist, as a sexist, and trash-talking with Ricky Ricardo impersonations, the Hispanic/Latino vote is pretty-much a solid win for the Dems.

Governor Pawlenty failes Econ 101…again

tim-palenty4This picture of our Governor Tim Pawlenty barely missing that ball reminds me of his current thoughts on Macro- economics.

Poor Governor Pawlenty; not only does he miss the opportunity to be the Republican Super Hero here in St Paul by being Sen John McCain’s choice as Veep, but he’s now getting compared to being a dumber choice for the position as a V.P. than Caribou Barbie herself.

The GOP ignored Pawlenty during the recent Republican Governors Association (RGA) and desperately turned towards Sara Palin during the in Miami just a few weeks ago. Not only was our own Tim Pawlenty “out of focus”, he was completely Out of Touch. The scene in Miami was so bad that Republican Governor Rick Perry (R-Texas) practically pushed Palin off the stage less she make a bigger idiot of herself.

And where was Pawlenty? Minnesota’s favored dimpled-donned fearless leader during that big bash in Miami?

He was MIA, like a Republican draft card. He is the sitting Chair of the National Governors Association you know. That trumps Rick Perry, Sarah Palin as well as Rot-Gut governor in Illinois, Rod Blagojevich.

In a piece Governor Pawlenty wrote for Politico entitled: “Cut up the credit cards“, our very own Governor proves his lack of economic intelligence by trying to invigorate the failing Republican Party:

Republicans should push for the enactment of an amendment to the United States Constitution requiring a balanced federal budget. This initiative is based on the common sense, kitchen table logic that most Americans and businesses live by. They expect the same from their government but haven’t been getting it lately.

Passing this amendment will be no small task…. Getting it done will require a two-thirds vote by both houses of Congress, followed by ratification by three-fourths of the states.

While daunting, this effort will unify and energize Republicans. It will require the GOP at all levels to be engaged in a common sense agenda that is compelling, conservative and that will positively transform America.

In Political Animal of The Washington Monthly, Steve Benen fired off:

This is so blisteringly stupid, I find it hard to believe an elected official would actually put his name on it. Maybe the Politico is playing a practical joke on Pawlenty, in the hopes of making him appear like a fool.

It’s no practical joke, It is, indeed, our idiotic Governor in Chief. Let’s all remember Pawlenty Economic initiative like, oooh… say: “Naming your Lieutenant Governor to be head of Minn Dept of Transportation so the state can save $108,000 annually.” In the world of Economics, an annual $100,000 is a drop in the bucket, but to Governor Pawlenty, it’s “Coupon Sunday!”.

Woo-Hoo-Hoo-Ray!

Governor Pawlenty is not the Brain Trust that Republican some folks think.

Benen goes on and slams the Governor on two points:

I honestly don’t know where to begin in responding to such an insane policy prescription.

  • The first point, of course, is that trying to balance the budget in the midst of a financial crisis is the exact opposite of what every sane person realizes we need — a government stimulus to help spur the economy. Why would Pawlenty recommend slashing hundreds of billions of dollars in government spending right now?
  • Second, that the Minnesota governor sees a similarity between an individual family’s budget and that of the United States government suggests he has a child-like understanding of economic basics.

Governor Pawlenty isn’t alone in this line of thinking. Republican Governor Mark Sanford of South Carolina told the Wall Street Journal:

When times go south you cut spending,” Gov. Sanford said. “That’s what families do, that’s what businesses do, and I don’t think the government should be exempt from that process.”

The idea these Republicans are pushing right now is that they’re against these federal bailouts and believe the financial crises can be resolved by spending cuts and reducing government. It’s exactly what Herbert Hoover did while dipping dangerously close to a depression – he cut everything off and we finally landed in the ditch wildly known as “The Great Depression”. (Hint: “You give money out, boys. Lots of it…The more you give out, the more people will spend it!”)

Republican Governors are facing the same problem everywhere: Lack of cash. Going against their genetic makeup by raising taxes, they’ve finally had their “Come to Jesus” by raising Sin Taxes on cigarettes. Governors Charlie Crist (R-FL) and Haley Barbour (R-MS) both have proposals to do just that. Pawlenty? Well, he’ll bitch and crab about Obama’s offer to help states and local municipalities, but he’s still planning on heading back to St Paul to demand the DFL kiss his ass by hacking away at LGA’s (Local Government Authorities) and the (Twin Cities) Met Council.

The second part of Pawlenty’s comment is equally stupid. I’ll agree with Steve Brenen that Publius described it best by noting:

This is of course dead wrong — and confuses microeconomics with macro, as any student of Econ 101 could tell you. The micro-considerations of an individual family or business has nothing much to do with what governments need to do to get the larger economy moving again. (Or just go read someone who actually knows what he’s talking about – Krugman). Even worse, it’s often affirmatively harmful to adopt microeconomic solutions to macroeconomic problems. Hoover: Ain’t that the truth.

Is it any wonder we’re having this financial crisis?

Republican President Ronald Reagan kicked off the modern Neocon movement with two simple statements:

  • The government isn’t part of the problem, the government is the problem!
  • The most terrifying words you’ll ever hear are: “Hello, I’m from the government and I’m here to help.”

Since then, the hatred toward the United States Government, US Government departments, US Government programs and US Government workers that have been under attack by the Republican Party ever since. The problem is obvious: Even the GOP doesn’t understand end of the line. Grover Norquist, the “Field Marshal” for Bush’s tax-cuts once said:

“My goal is to cut government in half in twenty-five years, to get it down to the size where we can drown it in the bathtub.”

…And with Governor Pawlenty, his hatred for our government gave us thirteen Minnesotans drowned in the Mississippi under the rubble of what used to be “Interstate 35-W”. Who needs a bathtub when you have a river that’s right handy?

FruitFly 6Pawlenty needs to find a new way to be that “Rising Star” from within the GOP, and he needs cook up a whole new kettle of fish as Ronald Reagan did so eloquently thirty years ago. Until then; trying to sound like an expert on Macroeconomics simply isn’t working in his favor. He’s presenting a very stupid argument on Politico and the rest of the mass media is mocking him publicly. And their heckling, I can only hope, includes their pity on the rest of us Minnesotans who have to live under this stupid Governor of ours.

Alaskans’ might have a smarter governor than we have, although I cringe at the very thought.

Five Pfleger Points

Fake headlines from around the country:

Pastor in Houma, LA, smears Clinton about racism; Obama is expected to apologize again.

Fr. Jones, Bemidji, MN: “Hillary must leave now”; Wolfson demands Obama apologize for cruel slurs.

Rabbi Cohen, Cleveland, MS: “Clinton has lied for the last time”; Clinton supporters get the vapors – demands an Obama Apology

Have I got your attention? Good!

Point #1: Expecting Obama to come to Hillary Clinton’s rescue with an apology every time some asshole says something bad about her is ridiculous; to say the least. Father Pfleger’s outburst is what it is, nothing more. Hillary Clinton got slapped by a Catholic priest and so she and all of her supporters once again beat their war drums enjoying their time watching Obama come back with his hat in his hands and offering an apology. Odd, don’t you think; his apology is never enough? Never! Hillary supporters gleefully wallowing in the apology, criticizing him because

  1. it wasn’t sincere enough,
  2. didn’t seem to include the correct wording that they were expecting demanding, or
  3. it wasn’t fast enough (because when Hillary fans get pissed off, you’d better be “front and center” within seconds dammit!!)

Obama could come crawling, bare-chested over a bed of razor-blades, and then over a bed of hot coals, get salt water thrown on him and offer his most sincere and deepest apology – and Hillary and her supporters would cheer in delight and then kick him in the crotch and tell him that it still wasn’t good enough.

Why?

Because it will never be good enough. It’s their chance to bask in the sun demanding that everybody recognize their hatred for

  • Obama
  • his supporters, and
  • the party.

It isn’t about the Democratic Party: It’s about them and they’ll do anything to make sure they keep it that way.

Could someone please spell it out for me: “Why is Obama expected to apologize for every Tom, Dick and Harry who says something bad about Hillary anyway?” But he is!

So let’s all watch for our fake “Fr. Jones” and “Rabbi Cohen” to show up and we’ll all be back here, watching Hillary Fans be all pissed off again. Hillary herself will be back demanding yet another apology from Obama.

…And everybody else? We’ll be shaking our heads in embarrassment.

Point #2: Fr Pfleger is just another Bible-thumper who’s found an audience by Hillary bashing. He’ll be on the television circuit, making tons of money, and he’ll probably be out with a freaking book before the elections in November. And why not? He’s selling copy!

I looked forward to Kitty Kelley’s unauthorized biography on Nancy Reagan I read it, I was more than disappointed. But, she made a few cool million off that piece of trash. And as long as that Liberal Main Stream Media keeps hyperventilating this stuff, Fr Pfleger would be wise to cash in on it too!

Pfleger has found, or will be soon finding out, that slamming Hillary attracts attention. And when you can attract attention by being so over-the-top, there’s opportunity to make money out of the dramatic moment.

You think you’re pissed off about Pfleger’s comment now? You just buckle-up, Baby…There’s a lot more of them that’ll be looking to..$$ cash-in.

Write your own book slamming Hillary. If your manuscript is good enough, you’ll make the $$ too!

Point #3: Hillary Supporters have patronized the Obama Supporters every time Senator Clinton kicked him in the teeth since February. “Oh, Boo-Hoo…If he can’t take the heat from Hillary, how’s he going to take the heat from the GOP?!” Or we heard them say; “Oh well! It just goes to show you that Obama doesn’t have the meddle to be President!”

And the subject has just been turned on its head with Fr Pfleger’s sermon last week.

What does Hillary care what some crack-pot priest on Chicago have to say?

Why, Hillary has started out in this race to play fierce and hard; what’s gone wrong? What’s changed?

I thought she was supposed running for the office of Commander in Chief?! What the hell?

Some priest out of Chicago get a little lippy and she’s pissed off?! Christ Almighty: What’s up next with Hillary? Is she going to go on a tare and throw every religious leader in jail for speaking ill of “The Goddess”?!?!

Are we all given a gag-order? Or is the gag-order only applicable to the Clergy?

I’ve been on the record to publicly say; “I love Hillary. I don’t love another eight four years of Clinton v. GOP wars.” And Pfleger’s comments, and the well fanned flames within the “Liberal” Mainstream Media only explains what I’m talking about.

Four years of this noise?!?!?

Forget it!

Point #4: I’m going to repeat the first paragraph of Spin #3 and you’ll see why:

Hillary Supporters have patronized the Obama Supporters every time Senator Clinton kicked him in the teeth since February. “Oh, Boo-Hoo…If he can’t take the heat from Hillary, how’s he going to take the heat from the GOP?!” Or we heard them say; “Oh well! It just goes to show you that Obama doesn’t have the meddle to be President!”

So now Hillary and her own Faithful Flock have gotten a taste of their own medicine… Well, that’s a shame, don’t you think?

With the feces she’s thrown at Obama, could she be so naive to forget: “What comes around, goes around”?

What needs to happen for Hillary and her Faithful Flock wake-up and smell the coffee? The majority of the Democrats in this country has spoken: “We want Obama!”

  • He’s won more Super D’s.
  • He’s won more states.
  • He’s won more committed delegates!

And yet, Hillary and her Fans, continue this level of arrogance by continuing to re-write the metric. “The issue in Florida is like the voting in Zimbabwe!” and other such lunatic bullshit comes out of Team Hillary. All the while she’s spewing such lunacy, her followers sit back and demand, with an iron-fist, that we allow them to continue playing in our sandbox. We continue to let them drain valued donated money and time against McBush.

But as I’ve already said earlier: This isn’t about Presidential campaigns, it’s about them. Who gives a shit what the majority in the party wants? It won’t go away, will it?

It slogs on and on and on….

Only now, those from deep within the Obama Camp are starting to shout out. They’re starting to yell back at the minority within the camp. There are those who are frustrated with this game and they’re starting to kick back.

…But it doesn’t go away. It slogs on.

Like the buzzing sounds of the extremely annoying mosquitoes, Hillary Fans whine because Hillary’s caught a proverbial black-eye from “someone in the audience”. Big deal. Buck up.

To use a masculine term: “Grow a pair!!!”

Expect to hear more, the longer she continues this race.

Point #5 Father Pfleger’s message, his sermon, was about “Entitlements”. If anybody bothered to go beyond that 30-second sound-bit that “Libral” Mainstream Media keeps playing over and over again, you’d see the wider context of what he was preaching about. And, he was preaching on the horrors that white people have done to people of color. His point rings of a European-American history related not only the horrors of slavery, but that would include the Spaniards’ actions to the Aztecs, the Caribbean natives who are now extinct, as well as the North and South American native peoples.

Fr Pfleger was noting that in today’s world; white people, generally, sit back and they expect entitlements bestowed upon them while everybody else who lives in this hemisphere have suffered at the hands of those European ancestors. …And, by in large, he’s pretty well nailed it! For the life of me, I can not find a printed copy of his sermon. However, I found a 7-odd minute on YouTube of the sermon that will bring a little bit more clarity to the context of his sermon:

… While he’s in front of Rev Jeremiah Wright’s church, Senator Barack Obama’s church, he’s chosen to take a swipe at Hillary Clinton and her own sense of entitlement. He’s chose her to make his point valid. That’s all! But, I’ll happily point back at Father Pfleger and note that the Catholic Church has been guilty of the more heinous crimes against all humanity. What the Catholic Church has done to gays and lesbians, women, minorities, the mentally ill, from dyslexia to epilepsy, those born disfigured and to those who dared to worship God differently, Father Pfleger has very little room to bitch on this topic.

Hell, during the Witchcraft Trials, a mole on the skin was considered where “the Devil kissed you” and you could be put to death. And while Fr Pfleger may make an interesting point, as a European-American himself, he paints himself as a wee-bit of a hypocrite on the subject.

In fact; the very words “fag” and “faggot” as related to gay men, are words coined directly from the very same Catholic Church Fr Pfleger represents.

Why he’s bitching about white people, I don’t know.

Nor do I know, nor care, why Hillary Fans are so pissed off.

To use a sexist term: “If she can’t take the heat, then get the hell out of the kitchen.”

Who’s the next “Fr Jones” that’s going to be smearing Hillary? Will there ever be a Rabbi Cohen or another Fr Jones out there smearing Hillary Clinton because of some new issue!?

Perhaps the bigger question should be; Why should we care?!
